Link your App containers with the Redis Server

Linking your App with the Redis instance provides the flexiblity to deploy without having to manually set the REDIS_URL environment variable or manually enter the IP address of each of your App containers when configuring IP whitelisting. If you are using NodeChef Redis with an app hosted on NodeChef as well, we highly recommend you link the App with the Redis Server.

To link your App containers with the Redis Server, Click RDB Actions > Redis Settings from the Task manager. Simply toggle the checkbox to Yes for each app you intend to link with the Redis Server. Once your App instances are linked with the Redis deployment, the NodeChef platform will always set the environment variables "REDIS_URL" and "REDIS_SSL_URL" for each app container.
