The continued growth of the internet, particularly in areas of mobile applications, IoT, and connected devices have resulted in industry-wide move to IPv6. IPv6 is the most recent version of the internet protocol. Though the current version IPv4 is still in use in many areas of the world, it is not large enough to sustain the rapid deployment of internet-ready devices. With 128 bits of address space, compared to 32 bits for IPv4, IPv6 has plenty of room for growth and also opens the door to new applications and new use cases.
You may be wondering how to get started with IPv6 on an existing deployment or a new deployment. We have you covered! All existing as well are new deployments support IPv6. If you are not using a custom domain, you don’t have to do anything. If you are using a custom domain you can add an AAAA DNS record pointing to the provided IPv6 address. To locate the IPv6 address of your deployment, log into NodeChef → App actions → custom domains.
As usual let us know if you encounter any issues.
